Apparently, tons of people (thanks to all of the media coverage and celebrities like Lady GaGa getting involved) are jumping on the "Repeal DADT" bandwagon. So, naturally, I have to put my two cents in.
First off, I am all about gay rights. I think they should have every right any other American has, because, after all, "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" doesn't have an "unless you're gay" clause. If you're a woman and you want to be with a woman? Go for it. Live long and prosper, good citizens!
I'm not CRAZY about "Gay Marriage", but I have no problem with a "Civil Union" that comes with all of the bells, whistles, and taxes of being married. I don't understand why Sue and Jill, who have been together for 50+ years, can't get one another's assets when one of them dies. It's ridiculous, considering Mike and Kim, who have been together for 3 years, have 4 kids, and are planning on getting a divorce because they should have never been married to begin with...would be entitled to one anothers' stuff in the event of death. Stupid. Plain stupid.
I also believe that gay/bi men and woman should have as much of a right to serve in our military as straight people. If you want to serve our country, then by God, do it. You're willing to put your life on the line to defend our freedoms and way of life, and that makes you a better person than I am. God bless.
In saying this, I am torn about DADT. And I'm looking at it from an "I have a best friend who is gay and other gay friends and I worry about their safety on a daily basis" stand point. I do believe that DADT is, at it's core, in place to protect the men and women who are out there serving the country. I don't think it's meant to be oppresive or derogatory. I have heard of higher ranked officers taking it upon themselves to go through soldiers' personal things and using personal e-mails, letters, and journals against them when they had no proof before hand, only personal speculation. This is wrong and shameful. Period.
However, I'm worried about the backlash. If you have a group of soldiers, and one makes reference to their boyfriend, there are three scenarios that go through my head. One, the other soldiers just nod and go on with their daily lives without any further concerns with the gay soldier's business. No big deal. Two, is that gay soldier then becomes the target of verbal and physical abuse, which could lead to a case like Allen R. Schindler, Jr. Three, would be that the soldiers talk amongst themselves and decide "Wow, I've been out here for 18 months and haven't gotten laid in that time. Well...Bob's gay, right? He takes it up the poop chute, anyway..." And Bob then becomes a target and/or victim of rape. After all, rape in the military is not unheard of.
I'm worried about options two and three. I think about my best friend in Army Greens, and I picture him getting his head stomped on in a public toilet in Japan because some assholes in his group (I can't think of the military word for this.) didn't like the fact that he likes other men. I think about him getting harrassed and verbally shat on day after day until his spirit is completely broken and he kills himself. These fears keep me from jumping on the repeal.
I want members of the GLBT community to enjoy every freedom, every liberty, and every right that any straight member of this country has. I want them to be happy and free from persecution, and I want them to be able to love without limits. But I do not want their lives risked in the process.
So where do I stand with Don't Ask, Don't Tell? I'm not really sure.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, so leave me a message below! Thanks for reading.

Obama's Company
I don't know about you, but I very much believe that the company we keep is very, very important. If we surround ourselves with nothing but drug addicts, common sense should tell you that we would wind up at least TRYING the drugs, ourselves. If we surround ourselves with street thugs who steal, lie, and cheat to get what they want, we will more than likely eventually become like them. Proof of this is everywhere you look, if you have enough sense to know what you're looking at.
PrezBO is no different than any other human being, though some like journalist Evan Thomas consider him "Sort of God." The company he keeps should bring on riots, or at least outrage.
I'll start with an oldie but goodie, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Obama claims to have sat in this man's church for 20 years. Many people have argued with me that "You can't stop going to church just because you don't like the pastor." My response to that is: The hell I can't. If one of my Lutheran pastors spouted this sort of blind, bias, disgusting flith and hatred towards ANYONE, much less the Country that I love, I would have very politely told him to shove his church and message where the sun doesn't shine, and I would find myself a new Lutheran church come the following Sunday, even if I had to drive a little bit further. How can you claim to sit in a church for 20 years and say that your spiritual advisor and the man who baptized your two children had no affect in your mindset or the way you live your life?
Next, I'll bring up another name you may be familiar with. Mr. William Charles "Bill" Ayers was a radical in the 70's who was the LEADER of a homegrown terrorist group called "Weatherman". They were participants in in the bombings of the NYPD Headquarters in 1970, the Capitol in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972. He spent years living underground as a fugetive. Despite all of this, there is evidence that Mr. Ayers at least co-wrote Obama's book, "Dreams From My Father". Obama claims to have never had any sort of friendship with Mr. Ayers. Riiiight.
Obama's "Green Jobs Czar", Mr. Anthony Van Jones, is an admitted "former" Communist who was an "active" Communist during the Rodney King riots. Click the link to learn more.
There are so many people that our "Christian" and totally-not-a-Muslim President hangs out with who are questionable. Do a simple search for "41 Obama aids taxes" and read up on how many tax cheats are currently in the White House. Do another search for how much experience Obama's cabinet has had in the private sector. Then ask yourself how comfortable you are with these people spending our tax dollars.
Happy reading!

Back to Basics
A lot of people who are going to be reading this blog probably haven’t been around long enough to remember the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. But, I’m sure you all have grandparents. If you talk to them, I’m sure they could tell you of a much different time: a time before the internet and cell phones, a time before government handouts, and a time before being pregnant at sixteen wasn’t a norm.
I’m sure they could tell you countless stories about how they or someone they knew literally worked until their hands bled, how they worked from dusk ‘til dawn, and how they had four or five kids and just had to work harder to barely make it by. It was a time where hard work was appreciated, and everything you owned was because you busted your ass and took risks. I’m sure they could also tell you about the kid who grew up to start his own company, and how hard he worked to build that company up. I’m sure they could tell you how competitive the market was back then, and how ingenuity, creativity, and determination could get you as far as you wanted to go if you were willing to work for it. That was the American Way, after all.
This country was built by men and women who didn’t quit because things just became “a little difficult”, nor did they look to the government to bail them out. Now with technology making life “easier” for everyone, I believe that people have forgotten about fortitude, responsibility, and self-worth. I believe this, because we elected this man to be our Leader.
Why does the government get to decide when we’ve made enough money? Whether you go out and work 10, 25, 40, or 60+ hours a week in a cubical, shop, hospital, construction site, or CEO office building, why should the government be able to say, “You earned this money, now give it to us and we’ll spend it, because we would make better choices in how to spend it more wisely.” HA! (See what’s in it for Congress here and other absurdities here)
Do you agree with the words of Jared Bernstein, where he said, “The most important thing we have to do right now is hold the line for the tax cuts for the millionaires and billionaires who, frankly, do not need the extra cash.” Is that really the mindset of some people?
Where, exactly, do you think jobs come from? Do they come from the middle class, who are currently struggling to pay their own bills? Hardly. (Yes, the private sector is the top employer in the country, but places like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, GMC, and other places that give VAST numbers of jobs are all run by wealthy people.) And we know they don’t come from the lower income class. So, that just leaves all of those “evil” millionaires and billionaires. The people with the money create the jobs. It’s just that simple. Tax them to death, and they’ll be a little less inclined to invest their money in the creation of new jobs and businesses. Tax them to death, and they’ll move their businesses overseas where there isn’t so much red tape. That “extra cash” those “evil rich people” have lying around could very well have been your paycheck.
Think about it.

The Truth About Katrina
I recently fell in love with Travis McCoy and Bruno Mars' song, "Billionaire", and can often be heard singing or humming it while doing mundane tasks. For the most part, I love the song, I really do. However, there is one lyric that irks me.
"I'd probably visit where Katrina hit/and damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did."
It's amazing how so many people are still so misinformed as to what happened that fateful day on August 29, 2005. The fact of the matter is this: New Orleans is a city run by some of the most corrupt idiot politicians in the U.S.of A.
Ray Nagen was mayor at the time, and though he talked a good game for the media, he did not do his best. The same can be said about Kathleen Blanco, who, truly, was about as useful as tits on a bull. The two of them, as well as the mainstream media, would like you to believe that the "poor, disinfranchised" citizens of New Orleans were absolutely, 100% trapped, with no hope or any way to get out. This is not true.
Louisiana’s disaster plan, pg 13, para 5 , dated 01/00, as published on the Drudge Report:
‘The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles. School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating’…
This image here shows a vast number of busses that were not utalized to transport citizens out of the city. George W. Bush and FEMA had nothing to do with this. This was a blunder on the then-Mayor and Governer.
And here's the more shocking part! Hold on to your hats, kids, because this is going to make you reconsider your "Aww, poor New Orleans" attitude. FEMA put out TENS of MILLIONS of dollars due to...Fraud. Yes, fraud. Dishonest inhabitants who were milking a disaster for all they could. Did they fix their homes with this money? Some of them did. But I can promise you this: sales for big screen TVs, designer clothes, and new cars shot up like you wouldn't believe. Is this FEMA's fault? Is it their fault that they were trying to help the people of New Orleans through the biggest man-made disaster in this country's history, only to be bombarded by false claims that they didn't have time to properly look over? (And yes, it was man-made. In case you've been living under a rock, it was not the hurricane that did the damage, it was a levee that broke.)
Five years later, there are places in New Orleans and outlining areas that still look like Katrina hit last week. Were FEMA and Bush completely faultless in this? Absolutely not. It was a slap in the face that Bush took his time to react to the devestation. Seeing him playing golf while my family and I were shacked up in a hotel room wondering if we had a home to go back to was infuriating.
Listen, I'm not trying to downplay what happened here. Yes, there were many, many lives lost, there were many, many tragic stories about mothers sacrificing themselves to save their children. There were as many heartwarming stories as there were stories about men raping little girls in the Superdome. There were as many people looting for food and clean water as there were looting for TVs, sneakers, and jewlery. Katrina brought out the best and worst of our community, and most people just want to put a sticker on all of them that says, "Poor victim."
The "poor victims" are still milking it 5 years later. Please remember that next time you hear anything about Katrina.

$800,000
What could you do with $800,000? I can think of quite a few things... Pay off my student loan, buy a car, buy a house (outside of Louisiana), take a cruise, travel, go to Las Vegas, so forth and so on. Or maybe, I would start my own business and create jobs. Novel idea, don't you think? The last time I checked, the stimulus bill was supposed to help OUR economy and create jobs here in America. This so-called "Summer of Recovery" is about as big a joke as "Cash for Clunkers".
To pour salt in the wound, the stimulus plan is giving $800,000 to a weenie washing program in Africa to see if teaching African men to properly wash their goods after sex can reduce the spread of AIDS.
"The genitalia-washing program is part of a larger $12-million UCLA study examining how to better encourage Africans to undergo voluntary HIV testing and counseling – however, only the penis-washing study received money from the 2009 economic stimulus law. The washing portion of the study is set to end in 2011." (CNS News)
Brilliant. Last time I checked, AIDS was spread by bodily fluids such as blood and "love juice". The way it was explained to me was that men in Africa generally are not circumsized. Because of this, if an uninfected man sleeps with an infected woman, her "love juice" can find its way into all of the little foreskin crevasses. Now-infected man sleeps with a different, non-infected woman and BOOM, she's now infected from the initial infected woman's...stuff. So, instead of teaching about condoms or abstinance, (or, I don't know, give the $800,000 to someone who can potentially create new American jobs?) they're going to teach them how to correctly wash their junk after bumpin uglies. Faaantastic.
To summarize, money from a STIMULUS bill to help OUR economy and OUR people create new jobs is being spent on AFRICAN MALES GENITALS. How exactly is that helping us? If you can explain, please do, because I just find it ludicris.
Arguements I'll ignore: "But the poor people in Africa need our help! AIDS is horrible over there!" "You're a racist!" "OMFGZZZZZZ itz all bushs fault neway!!!"
Thanks for reading!

Introduction
This is just a short introduction to my blog, so that you know what you can expect to find here.
If you're looking for happy puppies and sparkly rainbows, please look elsewhere. This is where I intend to let loose my rage about a multitude of things. Politics, religion, how people raise their children...all sorts of taboo topics that may...Screw it. Topics that WILL offend people. Please know that I don't really care if I hurt your feelings because this is not a blog for you. I cater to people all day, and this will be my outlet.
If you're interested in what I have to say, or would like to have a serious, INTELLIGENT debate with me, by all means, leave a comment. If you're a troll or use lame, over-used arguements, don't waste your time.
